Healthy Banana & Peanut Butter Milkshake

Im'a let you in to a little secret.

You ready? Good.

When you freeze a banana, it morphs into something quite wonderful. It takes on a smooth, creamy consistency that could be *almost* be mistaken for ice-cream.

(Yup, that was it. That was the secret. Sure, it's not exactly groundbreaking but it's something worth knowing if a) you like bananas and b) you like ice-cream which, y'know, who doesn't?)

This makes them the perfect base ingredient for a variety of things; smoothies, desserts and of course, this delicious banana milkshake. A healthy milkshake that doesn't taste healthy. The perfect guilt-free summer beverage.

I've only made it twice but I think I've cracked it so that the balance of flavours come through.

You will need - makes enough for 2 large milkshakes
2 medium sized bananas, frozen and chopped

Tip: The best way to freeze bananas is to peel and chop them first and then place in to a freezable container or bag. The riper the better, as the more brown they are, the sweeter they will taste.

400ml semi-skimmed milk
1tsp vanilla extract
1 tbsp unsweetened peanut butter

1. Chuck all ingredients into a food processor and blend until smooth (I used a Nutribullet for ease)

2. Pour into glasses and serve immediately.

Easy peasy. I'm going to try it with almond milk next.
